Day 1 Fes - Ifrane - Azrou - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Merzouga
We start our journey from Fes in the morning, heading towards the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, often called "the Switzerland of Morocco" for its European-style architecture. After a short visit, we continue through the cedar forests of Azrou, where you can see the Barbary macaques in their natural habitat.
We then proceed to Midelt, a town nestled between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, where we will stop for lunch. Our journey continues through the scenic Ziz Valley, renowned for its lush palm groves and stunning landscapes. In the afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, where you will be greeted with traditional mint tea before embarking on a camel trek into the mesmerizing dunes of Erg Chebbi. Enjoy the breathtaking sunset before reaching your desert camp, where you will have dinner, enjoy Berber music, and spend the night in a traditional nomadic tent.
Day 2 Merzouga - Khamlia - Rissani - Erfoud - Merzouga
Wake up early to witness the magical sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast at the camp. We then ride camels back to Merzouga, where we begin our exploration of the desert region.
Our first visit is Khamlia, a small village known for its rich Gnawa music and culture. From there, we continue to Rissani, the historic capital of the Tafilalet region and home to a lively traditional souk. Next, we head to Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops and unique desert craftsmanship.
In the afternoon, we explore the surrounding desert, including the black desert, fossil sites, and nomadic settlements. We return to Merzouga, where you can relax at your accommodation or enjoy optional activities such as ATV quad biking or sandboarding. Dinner and overnight stay at a local hotel or riad.
Day 3 Merzouga - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley
After breakfast, we leave Merzouga and travel through the stunning landscapes of the Todra Gorges. These impressive rock formations, with towering canyon walls reaching up to 300 meters, offer an excellent spot for walking and photography.
We continue towards the Dades Valley, known for its spectacular rock formations, including the famous "Monkey Fingers." Along the way, we pass through Berber villages and lush valleys, offering a glimpse into the traditional way of life in the Moroccan countryside. Dinner and overnight stay in a charming hotel in the Dades Valley.
Day 4 Dades Valley - Roses Valley - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Fes
After breakfast, we drive through the beautiful Valley of Roses, famous for its rose distilleries and annual rose festival. We then arrive in Ouarzazate, known as "the Hollywood of Africa" for its film studios and historical sites. A visit to the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, one of the most well-preserved ksars in Morocco, is a highlight of the day.
We then begin our journey back to Fes, crossing the scenic High Atlas Mountains and passing through the cedar forests of Azrou. After a brief stop in Ifrane, we finally arrive in Fes, where our unforgettable desert tour concludes with a drop-off at your hotel.
